How to Make Homemade Edible Play Dough

My kids are the biggest peanut butter eaters in the world. Okay, maybe not in the world, but we go through a ton of peanut butter. I wanted to be creative with peanut butter one day and decided to make peanut butter play dough. I mean.... what's not to like? Play dough that you can eat! Hooray! My kids dove right in on the fun and started making the funniest play dough creations and then we giggled the entire time as we ate our play dough shapes. It almost felt like we were doing something naughty. Who eats play dough? Well, my kids do! As long as it's made with peanut butter. Ha ha!

Here's What You Need:
1 cup smooth peanut butter
1 1/4 cup flour
1/3 cup of honey

*In a medium bowl, stir together all your ingredients until it's well blended. Knead until smooth and playable.

*Use immediately or store in refrigerator in an airtight container until you're ready to use.

TIPS: Wash your hands before playing with dough. You don't want to be eating germy play dough. It's so yummy that even I couldn't help but play and eat it too. Once you're done eating and playing with your edible play dough {if you have any leftovers} I found that I could store it in my fridge for a few days for future usage. This play dough does leave a greasy film behind, so make sure you wash playdough toys and counters afterwards. ENJOY!

This is such a neat idea!.. how you ever came up with it is PURE GENIUS... I love peanut butter and so do my children... This is definately something we will all have a good time playing with(even though they are grown and do not play with playdough any longer but they do like to make things with food and play with GACK you know when you mix Borax with dish soap and make the slime and you can add food coloring to personalize it just for you!!! lol)...I just know we will have fun creating something with it.. I think I will try to put food coloring in mine (let's hope it doesn't come off on our hands LOL)

Thank you so much for such a great idea.... Keep them coming.. I love it!!!!!

My mom used to make this for my brothers and I when we were little. Thanks for the reminder. I'll have to do this with my kiddos this summer.

I've been wanting to give this a try! Regular playdough is so messy and leaves little pieces on the floor and everywhere! This stuff looks like it wouldn't be as bad.
